About

A dictionary of the unnamed things.

Sayandaism is a collection of words for things we've all experienced but never knew how to describe. Not the grand feelings that poets already own — the small, precise ones: the urge to check a phone that has given you no reason to, the moment a conversation runs out of bridge, the specific ache of a summer you can only visit through a song.

None of these words are real. That's rather the point. Language is a communal invention, written one name at a time, and the experiences we bother to name are the ones we start to see.

If you've ever thought there should be a word for this, you already know how this works. You just haven't said it out loud yet. Say it. Submit it. Somewhere, someone else has been waiting for that exact word their entire life.

Contributions are reviewed by a human before they appear — the collection has standards, just not very many.
